Meet Koa!
Koa is a 6 year old Pit Bull Terrier mix who loves to snuggle and go on long walks. He was rescued 4 years ago from an awful shelter situation where he was housed in a small filthy run for over a year. Koa thought he had found his forever but unfortunately it was not to be. Koa has become destructive and dog selective, and his family is unable to work through this with him. He likes some dogs but not all and therefore he needs to be an only dog in an adult home (older children are OK, but no toddlers. Koa is so strong he would likely knock small children over unintentionally.) In addition he should not be in a home with other small animals like a cat or rabbit!
Koa needs a physically and mentally strong owner to be in charge and to keep him focused on good behaviors and also be willing to work with a trainer to help Koa be the best he can be. He would make a wonderful running partner and would certainly benefit from having a fenced yard to romp in. He needs more activity than he is currently getting and that should also help him with his training.
He is a handsome brindle and white, and is a large dog over 70 pounds. Koa is healthy and up to date on his vaccinations, heart worm negative and neutered. His adoption donation is $200. Koa is located in CT.
